Happy new year!
I know this can be a busy time for people. Although it’s not talked about as much as it should be, mental illness is so serious and almost everyone suffers from some sort of mental illness. I personally, don’t suffer from it, I rather enjoy it 😂
Please keep in mind that there is something called winter blues. People are severely affected by this. Those who already have problems get worse and some people that never have problems, can suddenly develop them around this time of year. So try to make a point of reaching out to others to check on them, let them know someone is thinking of them and to make them feel loved. It won’t just help them, it’ll help you too.
Please feel free to reach out to me to chat. You don’t need a reason or an excuse. Everyone can benefit from having a friend. I know what it’s like having anxiety and worrying about everything but please know that I’m a very private person and never tell anything told to me in confidence! Loyalty is very important to me! When you send me a message, it goes directly to my personal email and nobody else ever sees it. & I can’t see who’s visited my page so please know that it’s completely anonymous! The only way that I know that you’ve been here, is if you personally tell me.

With the beginning of the year, I know so many people are starting diet and exercise. Over the years, I found that the more I deprived myself of something, the more I wanted it. Forbidden fruit. It could be something I never do or have but if there’s a rule that I can’t, I suddenly need it just because I’m not supposed to 😂 So instead of setting myself up for failure and firmly taking things away, I added stuff and the rest falls into place. I added particular exercises but didn’t decree a diet. I added more healthy foods but didn’t exclude anything. Knowing I can have them if I want, I’ve just been choosing not to. When you’re feeling better, you tend to make better choices. You’re choices. It’s empowering instead of strict diets that can make people feel like a toddler in time out.
It seriously helps having an accountability partner and I’m more than willing to be that for anyone. Not to judge or yell at you. Not to say anything at all! Just someone to tell everything you ate that day and what exercises you did. When you’re making difficult decisions during the day, it helps to know that you’ll have to tell someone at the end of the day and that might motivate you. You can also message me if you’re in a difficult situation and need a pep talk.
I know that I’m very motivated when I see progress, as most people are, so I came up with something I can work towards. I got glass jugs and then I got those river rocks from the “dollar” store. I do laps, with my walker, in my living room & on each lap, I put a stone in the jug. The night before, I put a set number of stones out for the next day and I can do them all at once or a little at a time, depending how I feel. Plus, at the end, you have a nice decoration with a story. I’m getting clear fake ice & starting another jar. I might start a few different jars for different exercises. I’ll write the start and end dates underneath. I have multicolored beads & prism diamonds. They are jars full of your hard work.

What I learned about diet and exercise, for me, the more I forbid things or the more strict things are, the faster I fail.
Again, please feel free to contact me for a friend, accountability partner, etc….
Love you! There’s nobody else in the world that’s exactly you & that makes you awesomely unique!
