In a world where you can be anything, be kind

Everyone’s story is different. There’s your version, their version and everything in between.
You can share similar problems as someone else but the circumstances around it make it a unique experience.
Some people have so much support, some have none, some have support but still feel so alone, some are unable to advocate for themselves, some have difficult home lives, some have no home, some have horrible loved ones, some have terrible but invisible illnesses, some have a terrible work environment, some are struggling to feed their children, some just lost a loved one, someone’s heat, water, electricity, etc…. got shut off…. There’s so many problematic issues that exist that it’s a certainty that almost everyone you meet is experiencing at least one of them.
After saying hello to my neighbor and her adult daughter, I overheard the daughter tell her mom- I love seeing her and get so happy when I do!
The mom asked why.
She said because no matter the circumstances, she’s always smiling and nice to everyone & that really brightens up my day!
I’ll never forget that!
Please keep these things in mind with everyone you encounter and never underestimate the sheer power of a smile, a touch, a hug, a kind word or a helping hand.
Everyone is going through something difficult, whether you see it or not. Just be kind to others.
I know that those things have really made a big difference in my life and brightened my day. Try to leave people happier than they were before. It doesn’t cost a thing and will make you feel good too!
